Firm History - Working to Help the Creative Industries Find a Voice

Many people ask how it is that we come to practice law in the Arts & Crafts and Creative Arts Industries.  Clearly stated - we fell into it!  As crafters for years, our circle of friends and travel centered around seminars, workshops, and classes.  At those events many attendees started asking us legal questions since we were attorneys about copyrights, protecting designs, a new idea, the list was endless.  Eventually we were asked to give a seminar or "just talk to a few people."  Our practice grew from there.  The Arts & Crafts Industry alone is a 30.3 Billion Dollar a year industry (Craft & Hobby Association - 2005).  It became increasingly apparent to us that the Creative Industries were underserved.

Our Firm's Mission

Intellectual Property Laws are wrtten for big business and the entertainment/digital industries.  Creative artists who generate tens, hundreds, and sometimes thousands of protectable works a year find the Intellectual Property Laws cumbersome and expensive. Our mission is simple:  Provide quality, affordable legal services to the Creative Arts Industries in a timely and understandable manner.
